In a very short space of time Giom has become one of the most highly sought after producers, remixers and DJs in the deep house scene. His music is consistently found at the top of download store sales charts and in the sets of DJs from house music’s jetsetting elite to bedroom jocks in every corner of the world.

Giom was born in Niort, France and now lives in London. Discovered by DJ Heather through MySpace in 2006, his initial releases were quickly signed to Amenti Music, Aroma and Kolour Recordings, alongside Heather’s own Blackcherry imprint. He has gone on to work with labels including Om Records, Universal and LCG Music, providing both original music and remixes for artists including Fred Everything, Jay-J and LawnChair Generals. He can also be found recording as one half of Bobby and Klein. In 2010 Giom joined forces with UK label Lost My Dog for a partnership that will see him release a string of EPs and remixes, full length projects and headline LMD events.

As a DJ, Giom is a regular at Fabric, sharing the bill with the likes of DJ Sneak, Mark Farina, Fred Everything and JT Donaldson. His energetic sets have led to a hectic tour schedule which means most weekends he can be found headlining in clubs from Australia to the United States and back around mainland Europe.

Away from house music Giom’s talents as a professional drummer are also highly sought after and have seen him tour and record for Zarif, The Nextmen, Odyssey and Kasabian amongst others.

A few weeks ago the KCTDC tribe paid a visit to the boys in Minneapolis. A weekend filled with bass bins, after hours, and getting pregnant as fuck. Aaron Litschke and Matt Veloce invited us to take over their night dubbed BLACK.

After getting home Lil Aaron slipped us this little gem in our inbox *giggity. Needless to say we had to get a few words with him as well.

Listener beware.. there is techno here.

What are your summer plans?
This summer is looking pretty good for me. I have a good amount of bookings coming up that I am looking forward to, and an EP coming out in early to mid May.

How did you get hooked up with the Bang Tech [Detroit] crew?
I meet Bill Stacy (the founder of Bang Tech) at a show about three years ago and I gave him some tracks I was working on. We started to talk more and more and the next thing I knew I was asked to join the crew. It was, to say the least, a great feeling to be asked to join. Bill and I just put out in EP called Countless in August.

How is the dance music scene in Minneapolis?
The scene in Minneapolis is GREAT! We have a ton of great shows with amazing producers and Dj’s playing on any given weekend. Where also blessed to have a ton of great locals to hold it down on any given night!

What producers are currently tickling your fancy?
I follow a lot of producers. The Droid/Truncate crew always get a lot of play. A.Paul, Sasha Carass, Virgil Enzinger, Submerge 101, Dustin Zahn, DVS1, James Hammer, Adam Beyer, Hyperactive, to name a few.

Are their any side projects are you currently working on?
James Hammer and I just did our first EP that I hope to have out soon, we’ve just started to shop it to a few labels. I’m also hopping to work with Bill Stacy again. My Best friend Jesse Jakob and I are talking about writing some music soon too!

How do you see yourself growing as an artist?
I dont know how I see myself. I would like to think I’m taking some small steps in the right direction. I also dont take music too seriously it’s always been a hobby of mine so no matter what happens I’ll always be having fun!

Do you have any advice for up and coming djs?
I get a good amount of mixes from people and the number one thing that drives me nuts is the lack of PLACEMENT in there mixes. If you dont know what placement is your mixes will never be as tight as they could be… IMO

What were your thoughts going into this mix?
I’ve been sitting on these tracks for a minute now. I had a few beers one day and decided to mix and boom I recored it.. It’s not perfect but I’m really happy with it and wanted to share.
